MANSEHRA: An open hearing was held at Malakandi National Park to discuss issues faced by local communities, the management and protection of national parks, and the promotion of wildlife conservation.
The hearing was organised jointly by the Wildlife National Park Division Mansehra and the Forest Department Kaghan Division. It was attended by a large number of local residents and community elders, along with officials from the wildlife and forest departments.
The Additional Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department attended the event as the chief guest. MPA Munir Laghmani, Malakandi National Park DFO Syed Taimur Shah, SDFO Syed Mohsin Shah, Kamal Ban National Park SDFO Mirza Daniyal Baig, forest department SDFOs and their staff, and wildlife watchers also participated.
During the open hearing, local people presented their concerns, suggestions and issues related to the national parks and surrounding areas.

The Additional Secretary listened to the community members and assured them that the Wildlife and Forest departments would work closely with local communities to improve the management and protection of national parks and natural resources.
He said all available resources would be utilised to promote conservation, effective park management and sustainable development.
The official stressed that the participation and cooperation of local communities are essential for protecting wildlife and natural resources.
He added that both departments would further strengthen communication and cooperation with local communities to support long-term conservation efforts.
The hearing provided a platform for dialogue between government departments and local residents and highlighted the importance of community participation in protecting forests, wildlife and other natural resources.
