LAHORE: The Punjab Environment Protection Agency (EPA) inspected 335 brick kilns across the province during the last 24 hours as part of an enforcement drive against environmental violations and air pollution.

According to the EPA, 12 notices were issued during the inspections, while one brick kiln was demolished and five others were sealed for violations.

An FIR was also registered for violation of environmental laws, while fines amounting to Rs400,000 were imposed.

The EPA said enforcement action was continuing against non-zigzag and polluting brick kilns to help control smog and improve air quality across Punjab.
