LAHORE: Ms. Emelda Berejena, Head of Punjab at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), visited the Green Building and held discussions with the leadership of the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EPCCD) on climate change, environmental protection, water management and climate-resilient agriculture.
The discussions explored potential areas of collaboration, including groundwater conservation, sustainable practices, technical knowledge exchange and community engagement.
During the visit, Ms. Berejena also visited Punjab Climate Watch, where she learned about the role of digital tools and data-driven solutions in strengthening climate awareness and environmental governance.
The visit highlighted opportunities for cooperation between FAO and EPCCD to support sustainable water management, strengthen climate resilience and promote practical environmental solutions across Punjab.
Greater collaboration, technical exchange and the use of reliable climate data can help strengthen environmental planning and support communities facing climate-related challenges.
