Punjab Reviews Progress at Flagship Shrimp Estate in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH: Secretary Aquaculture and Fisheries Punjab Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal conducted a detailed inspection of the flagship Shrimp Estate at Rakh Ali Wali in Alipur, Muzaffargarh, to review ongoing development and farming operations.

The visit was carried out in line with the Punjab government’s vision for promoting the blue economy and developing the province’s aquaculture sector.

During the visit, the secretary inspected progress on key civil works at the shrimp estate and reviewed the installation of solar-powered energy infrastructure.

He also monitored shrimp farming operations, including feeding practices, water quality management and shrimp growth in high-density farming units.

The inspection focused on the operational performance of the estate and the use of sustainable practices in shrimp production. The integration of solar energy into the project can also support more efficient and environmentally responsible aquaculture operations.

The visit provided an opportunity to assess field progress and review measures aimed at developing shrimp farming as part of Punjab’s growing aquaculture and blue economy sector.
