PESHAWAR: Secretary Climate Change, Forests, Environment and Wildlife Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Khan, chaired an important meeting to review promotion, upgradation, service structure and other administrative issues faced by employees of the Forest and Wildlife departments.

The meeting reviewed applications, appeals and representations submitted by employees at different times, as well as issues raised during open public forums. Chief Conservator Wildlife KP Dr Mohsin Farooq briefed the meeting on various cases, employee demands and related service matters.

Secretary Junaid Khan said employees were the strength of any institution and an important part of its performance. He said the department was committed to resolving genuine service-related issues in a timely and transparent manner.

He added that every possible effort would be made to find practical solutions to employees’ problems within the framework of rules, regulations and applicable legal procedures.

The secretary said necessary orders regarding employee promotions had already been issued in accordance with the law and existing service rules. As a result, several employees had received opportunities for promotion to higher-grade positions.

He directed the concerned officers to carefully examine pending cases according to the rules, while ensuring merit, transparency and fairness. Cases requiring further clarification or legal opinion should be processed promptly through the prescribed procedure, he added.

The meeting also highlighted the important role of forestry and wildlife employees, many of whom work in difficult and remote areas to protect forests, wildlife and other natural resources. Officials said a satisfied, empowered and motivated workforce was essential for achieving environmental protection, wildlife conservation and sustainability goals.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed their commitment to ensuring that genuine employee issues did not remain pending indefinitely. Practical and result-oriented steps would continue to be taken for their resolution according to the rules.
