Islamabad Administration on High Alert as Rain Continues Across the Capital

ISLAMABAD: Rain continued in different parts of the federal capital on Wednesday as the Islamabad district administration remained on high alert to deal with possible water accumulation and urban flooding.

On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, the district administration activated its field teams and stepped up monitoring across the city.

Assistant commissioners are monitoring low-lying areas and major drains to identify locations where rainwater could accumulate and create problems for residents and traffic.

Sanitation teams have also been deployed in the field to ensure the quick removal of accumulated rainwater from roads and other affected areas.

The administration is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating field operations to reduce the impact of heavy rainfall, particularly in low-lying areas.

Traffic police personnel are present on major roads and highways to maintain the smooth flow of traffic and assist motorists where needed.

The administration has urged citizens to remain cautious during the rainfall, especially while travelling through low-lying areas and roads near open drains.

Effective rainwater drainage and timely field response are important for reducing the risk of urban flooding and protecting public safety in Islamabad.
