BERLIN, GERMANY — Broadening the horizons of internationalization and science diplomacy for Pakistani higher education, Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (PoP, T.I.), participated in high level academic, policy, and diplomatic engagements across Germany alongside senior leadership from Pakistan’s higher education sector.
As part of the strategic itinerary, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (PoP, T.I) visited Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU Cottbus). The meeting served as a gateway to establish institutional linkages, drive joint research collaboration, and facilitate inter-university knowledge exchange between Germany and Pakistan.
Reinforcing the role of higher education in international relations, the Vice Chancellor engaged in high level policy and science diplomacy sessions at the German Federal Foreign Office and the German Parliament (Bundestag). The delegation also met with the Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany to map out long term strategies for bilateral academic cooperation and research integration.
Beyond formal policy dialogues, the delegation visited historic landmarks, including the Berlin Wall and the Brandenburg Gate, reflecting on Germany’s journey of reunification, unity, and global transformation.
Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza’s active engagement in this milestone visit highlights FJWU’s steadfast dedication to expanding its global academic network, promoting high impact research, and opening world class pathways for its faculty, researchers, and students.
