PRCS Sindh Promotes Tree Plantation and Environmental Awareness Among Students

KARACHI: The Sindh Branch of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) organized a tree and plant distribution activity along with an environmental awareness session for students at a private school as part of efforts to encourage young people to take practical action for environmental protection.

The initiative featured activities focused on kitchen gardening and indoor and outdoor plantation, giving students an opportunity to learn about simple ways of incorporating greenery into their homes, schools and communities.

Free plants were also distributed among the students, encouraging them to take responsibility for their care and contribute to a greener environment.

The activity was organized by the PRCS Sindh Branch’s Hon Ambassador for Tree Plantation on the directives of Red Crescent Chairman Rehan Hashmi.

The initiative aims to strengthen environmental awareness among the younger generation and encourage responsible action on climate change, tree plantation and environmental protection.

Engaging students in practical plantation activities can help turn environmental awareness into everyday action while fostering a stronger connection between young people and nature.

Kitchen gardening and small-scale plantation can also contribute to greener urban spaces, improve local surroundings and promote sustainable habits at the household and community levels.

PRCS said the initiative reflects its broader commitment to encouraging youth participation in environmental protection and building greater awareness of climate-related challenges among communities.
