LAHORE: Punjab WASA has established a centralised Command and Control Room to monitor water supply, drainage and monsoon-related operations across 41 districts, under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The central facility has been developed to strengthen real-time monitoring and improve the response to water supply and drainage challenges, particularly during the monsoon season.
According to Punjab WASA, the command centre is equipped with 13 digital dashboards and live data feeds, allowing officials to monitor key operations from a central platform.
The system provides real-time information on rainfall intensity, disposal station performance, fleet movement and citizen complaints, enabling authorities to identify emerging issues and coordinate timely responses.
Punjab WASA is also working in coordination with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Rescue 1122 to strengthen emergency preparedness and response.
The integrated monitoring mechanism is expected to improve coordination among field teams and relevant departments during heavy rainfall and urban flooding situations.
Officials said the use of digital technology and live operational data would help improve service delivery, strengthen drainage management and support more efficient responses to public complaints.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to develop a cleaner, more resilient and better-served Punjab, with technology playing an increasingly important role in managing urban water and monsoon-related challenges.
