President Zardari Urges Nation to Join Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has called on citizens to actively participate in the Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026, describing tree plantation and forest conservation as a national responsibility and an important priority for Pakistan.

In his message on the launch of the campaign, the President said a target of planting 20 million saplings across the country has been set under the Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026.

He highlighted the vital role of forests in protecting biodiversity, water resources and the environment, stressing that expanding forest cover was essential to addressing the growing impacts of climate change.

President Zardari urged citizens, particularly young people, educational institutions and local communities, to participate actively in plantation activities and contribute to increasing Pakistan’s green cover.

He also emphasized the importance of planting native and locally suitable tree species to ensure better survival rates and strengthen local ecosystems.

The President said the government was taking measures for forest conservation, ecosystem restoration and sustainable land management, adding that environmental protection required collective and sustained efforts from both institutions and citizens.

He described the Monsoon Plantation Campaign as an opportunity to promote environmental responsibility and collective action, calling for joint efforts to build a greener, cleaner and climate-resilient Pakistan.

“Trees planted today are a guarantee of a healthier and better future for generations to come,” the President said, emphasizing that the country’s environmental legacy would depend on the actions taken today.
