Upper Dir police destroy illegally cultivated poppy crops in Khandron

UPPER DIR: Police destroyed illegally cultivated opium poppy crops during an anti-narcotics operation in the Khandron area of Upper Dir, officials said.

The operation was carried out on the directives of District Police Officer Aslam Nawaz as part of an ongoing campaign against narcotics across the district. Police said the action was aimed at curbing illegal cultivation and protecting young people from drug-related harm.

Under the supervision of SDPO Wari Circle Fakhar Alam Khan, SHO Police Station Jagam and police personnel conducted the operation at various locations in Khandron.

Police said a large quantity of poppy crops found at the sites was completely destroyed.

Cases registered against suspects

Officials said cases had been registered against individuals allegedly involved in illegal cultivation, while further legal action had been initiated.

DPO Upper Dir Aslam Nawaz said operations against narcotics would continue without discrimination across the district.

He said every possible step would be taken to eliminate drug-related activities and protect the younger generation from narcotics.
