Peshawar district Zakat chairman visits Hamza Foundation Thalassemia center

PESHAWAR — District Zakat Chairman Peshawar Muhammad Zaheer, along with members of the district Zakat committee, visited the Hamza Foundation Welfare Thalassemia Center and Blood Transfusion Services in Peshawar to review its healthcare services for patients with blood disorders.

During the visit, officials were briefed about the foundation’s operations and the support it provides to patients suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia and other blood-related conditions. The visit highlighted the role of charitable organizations in providing medical assistance to vulnerable communities.

The delegation received a detailed briefing from Hamza Foundation Chairman Ijaz Ali Khan and Medical Director Dr. Tariq Khan about the organization’s services and ongoing welfare initiatives.

According to the foundation, it currently provides free screened blood, blood products including fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and platelets, iron chelation medicines, and food support to 1,563 registered patients from low-income families who are living with thalassemia, hemophilia and other blood disorders.

Officials said the foundation’s services are aimed at improving treatment access for patients who require regular blood transfusions and long-term medical care.

Muhammad Zaheer and other members of the district Zakat committee appreciated the welfare work being carried out by the foundation for patients and their families. They expressed support for the organization’s efforts and said the committee would continue to assist initiatives that provide healthcare support to vulnerable communities.
