Security forces eliminate 34 militants in coordinated operations across KP, Balochistan

RAWALPINDI, Feb 25, 2026 — Pakistan’s security forces killed 34 militants during coordinated intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday. The operations were conducted over the past several days as part of the country’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 26 militants affiliated with Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in four separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 24. In a separate operation in Sambaza, Zhob District, eight militants linked to Fitna Al Hindustan were killed.

In North Waziristan’s Hassan Khel area, security forces intercepted a group attempting to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. One militant was killed during the exchange of fire and was later identified as an Afghan national, the statement said.

An intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat resulted in the killing of three militants after what officials described as a “fierce exchange of fire.” In Bannu’s Narmi Khel area, 10 militants were killed in two engagements. Another 12 were eliminated in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, during an operation based on actionable intelligence.

The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants, who were allegedly involved in previous attacks in the region.

ISPR added that clearance operations are ongoing to ensure no remaining militants are present in the affected areas. The campaign is being conducted under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” a national counterterrorism framework approved under the National Action Plan.

Security officials reiterated that operations will continue to secure border regions and counter militant threats.
