Security forces intensify operations in Balochistan after militant attacks

Three militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in Panjgur district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the operation was carried out on January 25 after reports of the presence of militants linked to Fitna al Hindustan in the area. The action targeted what officials described as an Indian-sponsored network operating in the district.

ISPR said security forces engaged the militants’ location during the operation, leading to an exchange of fire in which three militants were killed. Those identified included a local commander, Farooq alias Soro, along with two others, Adeel and Waseem.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site, the statement said, adding that the militants had been involved in multiple attacks and acts of violence in the region.

Following the operation, security forces launched sanitization efforts in the surrounding area to ensure no other militants remain present. ISPR said counterterrorism operations would continue as part of Pakistan’s broader security campaign under the national counterterrorism framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee.
