Pakistan Navy ships call at Muscat port during overseas mission

Pakistan Navy and PMSA ships berthed at Port Sultan Qaboos during an official overseas deployment visit to Oman.

ISLAMABAD: A flotilla of the Pakistan Navy, accompanied by a vessel of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, has visited Port Sultan Qaboos as part of an overseas deployment, the Navy’s media wing said on Saturday.

The flotilla included PNS Rah Naward, PNS Madadgar and PMSA ship PMSS Kashmir. The visiting ships were received by Omani authorities on arrival, reflecting the close maritime ties between Pakistan and Oman.

During the port call, Mission Commander Commodore Amir Iqbal and commanding officers of the ships held meetings with senior officials of the Royal Navy of Oman. Discussions focused on professional engagement, maritime security cooperation, and areas of mutual interest.

Omani naval officers and midshipmen also visited the Pakistani ships, where both sides exchanged views on maritime operations and training. The ships were opened for visitors, including members of the Pakistani community and students from the Pakistan School in Muscat.

After completing the port visit, the Pakistan Navy and PMSA ships carried out a passage exercise with Royal Navy of Oman ship Khasab. The exercise aimed to improve operational coordination and interoperability between the two navies.

The Navy said Pakistan and Oman regularly conduct port visits and joint activities, and the latest engagement is expected to further strengthen bilateral naval cooperation.
