Pakistan’s mid-range smartphone segment continues to see increased activity as brands introduce devices with larger batteries, faster displays and enhanced durability. Two recent entries in this category, the OPPO A6 and the Vivo Y29, are being compared by consumers on the basis of battery capacity, performance, durability, camera features and pricing.
OPPO A6 leads in battery capacity and charging output
Battery performance remains a central factor for many users. The OPPO A6 is equipped with a 7000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging, while the Vivo Y29 features a 6500mAh battery with 44W charging support. Charging speeds are similar on paper, though the A6 offers a slightly larger battery capacity.
Display size and refresh rate remain similar
Both smartphones feature large LCD displays with high refresh rates. The OPPO A6 comes with a 6.67-inch LCD panel, while the Vivo Y29 offers a 6.68-inch display. Both support a 120Hz refresh rate and include side-mounted fingerprint sensors for biometric security.
OPPO A6 and Vivo Y29 share the same processor
In terms of performance, both models are powered by the Snapdragon 685 chipset paired with 8GB RAM. This configuration supports everyday usage such as browsing, social media, video streaming and moderate gaming. The OPPO A6 additionally includes vapor chamber cooling and split-screen multitasking features through its operating system.
Storage options differ between the two phones. The OPPO A6 is available in both 128GB and 256GB variants, while the Vivo Y29 is offered only in a 128GB version.
Warranty coverage differs between the two devices
Warranty remains another point of difference. The OPPO A6 is being offered with a two-year official warranty, while the Vivo Y29 follows the standard one-year warranty policy common in this category.
Camera hardware remains identical with software differences
Both smartphones feature dual rear cameras comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary lens, along with an 8-megapixel front camera. Software features vary, however. The OPPO A6 offers AI-based editing tools such as object removal, portrait retouching, dual-view video and underwater photography mode. The Vivo Y29 also includes basic AI camera enhancements, though with fewer software-based tools.
OPPO A6 carries a higher durability rating
Durability is one of the clearer points of contrast. The OPPO A6 carries an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, while the Vivo Y29 has an IP64 rating, which provides standard splash and dust protection.
Pricing remains close despite feature differences
In terms of market pricing, the OPPO A6 is listed at approximately PKR 54,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and PKR 59,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant. The Vivo Y29 is priced at around PKR 49,999 for its 8GB/128GB configuration. Retail prices may vary by location and seller.
Both devices target the same consumer segment
Both smartphones are positioned toward users seeking large displays, long battery life and reliable daily performance in the mid-range category. Battery size, durability rating, warranty length and storage capacity remain the primary technical differences between the two models.
