Indian cricket team’s young batter, Tilak Varma, has set a unique world record in T20 Internationals.
On Saturday, India defeated England by 2 wickets in a thrilling second match of the 5-match T20 series in Chennai. India successfully chased down England’s target of 166 runs, thanks to Tilak Varma’s brilliant batting in the final over.
The left-handed batter played an unbeaten knock of 72 runs off 55 balls, helping India take a 2-0 lead in the series against England. With this remarkable innings, Tilak Varma set a world record in T20 Internationals.
Tilak Varma became the batter with the most runs in consecutive T20I innings without being dismissed. Over his last four innings, he has scored a total of 318 runs, including two stunning centuries. His scores in the last four innings are 72*, 19*, 120*, and 107*, with all innings being not out.
Before this, the record for most runs in consecutive T20I innings without being dismissed was held by New Zealand’s Mark Chapman, who scored a total of 271 runs in 2023.
The third T20 match of the series between India and England will be played on Tuesday.
