According to the American news agency, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Pacific Region has reported that a seabird named Wisdom, a Laysan albatross, returned to the Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge in the U.S. state of Hawaii. Experts estimate that this could be her 60th egg.
Since 2006, Wisdom and her mate, Akeakamai, had been returning to the atoll in the Pacific Ocean to lay eggs, as Laysan albatrosses typically lay one egg per year.
However, officials noted that Akeakamai has not been seen for several years. When Wisdom returned last week, she was spotted with another bird.
