For the first time in history, a painting created by a robot has been auctioned for millions of dollars. The humanoid robot named I-Da created the painting, making history with its artistic achievement.
The robot painted a portrait of the renowned computer scientist Alan Turing, titled “AI God.” This painting was auctioned for $1,008,000 at an American auction house, although it was initially expected to sell for between $120,000 and $180,000.
The painting, which is 7 feet large, pays tribute to Alan Turing’s contributions to artificial intelligence (AI) and computing technologies. The robot has cameras in its eyes, and with its hydraulic hands, it can autonomously create any painting.
I-Da has created numerous paintings, and its AI language model helps it communicate with people, even allowing the robot to compose poetry.
