Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga has stepped down as captain of the national T20I team after the World Cup debacle.
The Sri Lankan spinner, who was named the T20I captain last year, led the team in 10 matches.
In a statement issued by Sri Lanka Cricket, Hasaranga mentioned in his resignation letter that stepping down as captain is in the best interest of the team. He expressed his determination to continue to contribute as a player.
