CHITRAL: Wildlife staff rescued a young markhor that had become separated from its herd in the Lavi area of Lower Chitral and had joined a herd of domestic goats.
The wildlife team took immediate action to safely secure the animal and transported it to a veterinary hospital for a medical examination.
The markhor was found to be healthy after the examination. Wildlife officials later released it into its natural habitat in the Toshi Shasha Community Managed Game Reserve.
The successful rescue and release highlights the importance of wildlife protection and quick response to animals found outside their natural habitat.
