EPA Faisalabad Seeks Emission Control Systems and CCTV Monitoring in Industries

FAISALABAD: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Faisalabad has called for the timely installation of Emission Control Systems (ECS) in industrial units and the provision of CCTV camera access to strengthen environmental monitoring and compliance.

Dr. Tahir Abbas Sial, Deputy Director Environment at EPA Faisalabad, visited the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), where he held a meeting with Chamber President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh and other representatives.

The meeting focused on ensuring that industries install the required emission control systems within the prescribed timeframe and provide the EPA with CCTV access to improve monitoring of industrial activities.

The proposed measures aim to help environmental officials monitor compliance more effectively, identify potential violations and encourage industries to meet applicable environmental standards.

Chamber representatives expressed their cooperation and agreed to ensure that the required systems are installed in industrial units as soon as possible, in line with environmental requirements.

Industrial emissions can contribute to air pollution and pose risks to public health, particularly during periods of poor air quality and smog. Effective emission controls and regular monitoring are important steps towards reducing pollution and protecting nearby communities.

The engagement highlights the importance of cooperation between environmental authorities and the industrial sector in promoting cleaner production practices and improving air quality in Faisalabad.
