BHAKKAR, September 17, 2026: The Wildlife Department has intensified enforcement against illegal hunting and possession of Lavā Quails in Bhakkar district, with fines imposed and several accused arrested in separate cases.
During night patrolling in Tehsil Bhakkar, wildlife officials recovered two Lavā Quails. Legal proceedings were initiated, and a fine of Rs. 20,000 was imposed against each offender, bringing the total fine in the case to Rs. 40,000.
In a previous case in Darya Khan, the proceedings concerning two recovered Lavā Quails have also been finalized. A fine of Rs. 20,000 was imposed against each offender.
According to the Wildlife Department, the fines in the Bhakkar and Darya Khan cases brought the total amount to Rs. 80,000.
In another case registered through an FIR in Kallurkot, one accused had previously been arrested and placed in lock-up. The remaining three accused, who had been absconding, have now also been apprehended and lodged in the lock-up.
With the latest arrests, all four accused nominated in the Kallurkot case are now in custody.
The Wildlife Department said enforcement operations and night patrolling would continue to curb illegal hunting and protect wildlife.
