At an event in London, Mahira discussed her experience working with Shah Rukh, saying he has a unique ability to make others feel genuinely valued.
The actress shared that the most beautiful aspect of his personality is his ability to give full attention to the person he is speaking with, whether in person or over the phone. Mahira said, “In my opinion, the beautiful thing about Shah Rukh is that when you talk to him or message him, you feel very important. This is his quality, to make the other person feel valued.”
It is worth mentioning that Mahira and Shah Rukh appeared together on the big screen in Raees in 2017. Since then, Mahira has often talked about Shah Rukh’s generosity and kindness, sharing her experience of working with him.
Recently, Raees’ casting director Mukesh and director Rahul Dholakia shared the story behind casting Mahira. They explained that they were looking for an actress who matched Shah Rukh’s age and suited the role of Asiya. They said that since Shah Rukh was 50, they needed a heroine who was at least 30.
According to Rahul Dholakia, what set Mahira apart from other actresses was her command of Hindi and the innocence she brought to the role. The director added that Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri’s mother had seen Mahira on TV and suggested casting her, which ultimately led to Mahira Khan’s selection.
