KARACHI: After a long weekend, the stock market continued its momentum from Friday and registered a gain of 265 points during the hour of trading. The index was at the level of 63,268.28 points around 10:00.
Friday, the last trading day of the outgoing week, saw some gains for the benchmark KSE-100 index. The market opened at 62,393.73 points and the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed at 63,002.91 points.
On Wednesday, a day before the general election, the index showed positivity and stability with slow and steady growth after opening at 63,799.01 points. At 11:00 AM, the index traded at 64,118.66 points, 319.65 points above the initial level.

Much of the index’s gains early yesterday came from E&P companies, which continued their momentum today. However, yesterday PIA was trading in the red, but today it has also pulled into the green.
