A rescued pangolin has been successfully released back into its natural habitat in the Margalla Hills National Park after receiving medical care and rehabilitation at a wildlife rescue centre.
Following a health assessment, the pangolin was declared fit for release and returned to the wild, marking another positive step towards the conservation and protection of native wildlife in Islamabad.
Pangolins play an important role in maintaining ecological balance, particularly by controlling insect populations and contributing to healthy forest ecosystems. However, they remain vulnerable to habitat loss, illegal hunting and trafficking.
Wildlife authorities have urged citizens to respect natural habitats and report injured, trapped or illegally held wildlife to the relevant authorities.
