ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) rescue team successfully rescued a monkey after receiving a report from a concerned citizen in an urban area of the federal capital.
The trained wildlife team responded promptly and safely rescued the animal, ensuring that appropriate care and management measures could be taken.
The IWMB has encouraged citizens to report sightings of monkeys and other wildlife in urban areas so that trained personnel can respond safely and reduce the risk of human-wildlife conflict.
The wildlife authority also urged residents and visitors not to feed monkeys or other wild animals. Feeding wildlife can alter their natural behaviour, create dependence on human food and increase the likelihood of animals approaching residential areas and coming into conflict with people.
The IWMB emphasized that responsible public behaviour is essential for maintaining a healthy balance between Islamabad’s growing urban environment and its wildlife.
