MANSEHRA: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Tuesday visited flood-affected areas of Mansehra on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to review the damage caused by recent monsoon rains and cloudburst incidents.
Accompanied by local elders, the minister inspected damaged houses, washed-away bridges, affected water supply schemes, erosion-hit link roads, and other public infrastructure.
During the visit, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf met with affected families and assured them that the federal government would provide full support for their relief and rehabilitation.
He said the purpose of his visit was to assess the scale of the destruction and submit a detailed report to the Prime Minister so that appropriate measures could be taken without delay.
The minister also expressed concern over the slow pace of relief activities by the provincial government and directed the relevant authorities to prepare a comprehensive damage assessment report.
He instructed officials to give priority to rehabilitation and restoration work so that affected communities could receive timely assistance and essential services could be restored as soon as possible.
