RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) organized a special free plant distribution camp at Roomi Park on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, encouraging residents to contribute to making the city greener and cleaner.
The camp was established specifically for residents of the cantonment area, with the aim of raising public awareness about tree plantation, environmental protection and the importance of maintaining a clean and green environment.
More than 7,000 saplings were distributed free of cost among residents during the campaign.
The saplings included a variety of fruit-bearing, flowering and shade trees, enabling citizens to plant trees around their homes and in their neighbourhoods.
The initiative was organized as part of the Independence Day celebrations to promote the message of a Clean and Green Pakistan and encourage greater public participation in plantation activities.
According to the Cantonment Board administration, tree plantation plays an important role in improving the environment and helping create a cleaner, healthier and greener environment for future generations.
The administration also emphasized the importance of community participation in environmental initiatives and encouraged residents to not only plant saplings but also ensure their proper care and protection.
The free plantation camp reflected the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board’s efforts to promote environmental awareness and expand greenery across the cantonment area.
