LAHORE: The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has intensified its province-wide campaign against air pollution, launching a large-scale crackdown on illegal industrial units operating in violation of environmental regulations.
The enforcement drive is being carried out on the directives of Director General EPA Punjab, Syed Musa Raza, as part of the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against environmental pollution.
EPA inspection teams are conducting raids on industrial units that fail to comply with environmental laws, with strict legal action being taken against violators to curb emissions and improve air quality.
Officials said the ongoing operation aims to ensure compliance with environmental standards, reduce industrial pollution, and safeguard public health by creating a cleaner and safer environment for citizens.
The DG EPA reiterated that no compromise would be made on environmental protection and warned that industries violating environmental regulations would continue to face strict enforcement measures. He emphasized that the campaign reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to improving air quality and promoting sustainable industrial practices across the province.
