President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday visited the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and expressed condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan over the killing of Chinese nationals in the terrorist attack in Bisham.
He strongly condemned yesterday’s terrorist attack, saying that the Pakistani nation shares the grief of the Chinese people. He said that the Pakistani people expressed solidarity with the Chinese people in this hour of grief.
Upon his arrival, the President was received by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong. The secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the President said that enemies in the region cannot accept Pakistan and China further strengthening their bilateral relations. He assured the Chinese ambassador that the criminals involved in the horrific act would be caught and brought to justice. He further said that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals working on various projects in Pakistan.
The Chinese ambassador thanked the president for personally visiting the embassy to express his condolences. He appreciated that Pakistanis from all walks of life condemned the terrorist attack.

Jiang Zaidong emphasized that Chinese workers have made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Pakistan. He said terrorists are enemies of humanity and must be hunted down as they target innocent people.
He emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism and provide increased security to Chinese workers in Pakistan. The ambassador reiterated his country’s determination to further strengthen cooperation with Pakistan and continue to support CPEC and other projects.
Writing his remarks in the visitor’s book at the Chinese embassy, the president said the inhumane attack struck at the core of the shared values and enduring friendship between the two countries. “This incident was orchestrated by enemies of Pakistan-China friendship,” he added. He also wrote that Pakistan will never allow terrorists to undermine our common goals for peace, prosperity and security in the region.
