Ahsan Iqbal, Iranian envoy discuss bilateral trade

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Iranian Ambassador Dr Reza Amiri Moghaddam discussed bilateral trade on Wednesday.

Moghaddam challenged Iqbal in Islamabad. On this occasion, the two leaders discussed the historical ties between the two countries.

“The volume of trade between the two countries can be increased manifold,” the federal minister added.

Iqbal said earlier today that the country is facing serious economic difficulties.

Expressing his thoughts, Iqbal said, “All the affairs of the government are based on loans. This is a warning sign for us.”

Iqbal urged the need to increase production capacity, revenue and exports in a bid to get the country’s economy back on track.

“The country has no other option except for economic progress up to nine percent,” he added.
