KARACHI/LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) member Saeed Ghani on Thursday said he was not allowed to enter the Returning Officer’s (RO) office.
In a social media post on the X platform (formerly Twitter), the PPP candidate claimed that voters were barred from entering the RO’s office. He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to address the situation immediately.
Similarly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) advocate Salman Akram Raja claimed that he was evicted from the RO office in Lahore.
He also took to X and stated that “I was illegally evicted from the premises after a suspicious incident in the RO’s office. The results compilation process cannot continue in my absence. They have to let me back in.”

Meanwhile, United States Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib said the US should not give its “tax dollars” to anyone who undermines democracy.

In a post on X, the congresswoman said the United States must “stand with the people of Pakistan because their democracy is under serious threat. They should be able to elect their leaders without interference and manipulation of the process”.
