ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan on Thursday expressed concern over the delay in declaring election results, alleging that the process is being hampered following the victories of party-affiliated independent candidates.
Omar Ayub Khan expressed these concerns in a video message on social media platform X and claimed that there were reports of switching off of screens in Returning Officers (Ros) offices in several areas.
Omar Ayub urged PTI workers to remain vigilant and not leave polling booths until they receive Form 45, a key document detailing the election results.
He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to speed up the release of results and prevent any manipulation that could compromise the integrity of the election process.
Meanwhile, PTI leaders Omar Ayub Khan and Barrister Ali Zafar have thanked the public for their support and active participation in the election process, despite what they say is “state interference and election rigging”.
They appreciated Imran Khan’s unwavering commitment to constitutional principles and democracy and emphasized the party’s confidence in securing victory in many constituencies.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed a similar view.
The chairman told X to share that “results are coming incredibly slowly”.
