In the dynamic world of mobile apps, users are often frustrated by the seemingly constant updates for different platforms. However, WhatsApp is trying to solve this with a new feature that is currently being rolled out.
The Meta-owned platform is in the process of rolling out a new feature — available through the latest WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.24.2.13 on the Google Play Store — that will allow users to manage WhatsApp updates from the app’s settings.
A new option available to some beta testers allows users to quickly process updates from within the app. Users can choose to have WhatsApp update automatically over WiFi when a new version is available, or opt to be notified when a new version is ready for download.

According to WABetaInfo, this option is only available on devices that have Meta App Manager pre-installed (such as some OxygenOS devices), meaning that users of different operating systems or devices that do not currently have Meta App Manager pre-installed may not be able to access this particular update management function through the application settings.
Meanwhile, for devices that did not come with Meta App Manager pre-installed, manually installing the program will not enable this specific update management feature.
It should be noted that users can already choose to have apps update automatically when new versions are released through the Google Play Store. However, some OxygenOS beta testers and users of other device models still have control over whether or not they will receive update notifications.
