A dispute between two famous stars of the Tamil film industry, Dhanush and Nayanthara, has intensified. Dhanush has filed a lawsuit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Shivan, and their production company, Rowdy Pictures Private Limited.
Dhanush claims that scenes from his production film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan were included in the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale without his permission.
Dhanush’s production company, Wunderbar Films Private Limited, has also sought permission from the Madras High Court to file a lawsuit against Netflix’s Indian branch, Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, which the court has granted.
Last week, Dhanush sent a legal notice to Nayanthara, demanding that the content be removed within 24 hours. The notice stated that if the content was not taken down, Dhanush would file a lawsuit for damages amounting to 10 crore rupees.
Nayanthara criticized Dhanush’s action on Instagram, calling it “disappointing.” She thanked other producers, including Shah Rukh Khan, Chiranjeevi, and Ram Charan, who had freely allowed her to use their scenes for the documentary.
