ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has distributed financial assistance to the families of miners who lost their lives in a tragic coal mine accident in Balochistan in July 2026, following the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
According to the NDMA, Rs2 million in financial assistance was provided to each affected family, with relief cheques distributed among the families of 34 deceased miners.
An NDMA team distributed the assistance cheques to the bereaved families in Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the support of local representative Dr. Ibadullah.
The financial assistance is aimed at providing immediate support to families facing hardship following the loss of their loved ones in the tragic mining accident.
The federal government expressed solidarity with the affected families and reiterated its commitment to providing all possible assistance during their difficult time.
The NDMA said the support reflects the government’s efforts to stand with families affected by major accidents and disasters and provide timely assistance to those in need.
