FAISALABAD: The Livestock and Dairy Development Department has advised livestock farmers to exercise caution when feeding green fodder during the monsoon season to protect animals from diseases and digestive disorders.
Additional Director Livestock Dr. Rubina Anjum said that although green fodder grown during the rainy season is highly nutritious, improper handling and feeding can pose serious health risks to livestock.
She urged farmers not to feed rain-soaked fodder to animals immediately. Instead, the fodder should be allowed to dry for some time before use to reduce the risk of digestive complications.
Dr. Anjum also warned farmers against using mouldy, rotten or foul-smelling fodder, saying such feed can cause various diseases and adversely affect the health and productivity of livestock.
The department advised livestock owners to follow proper feeding practices during the monsoon season to ensure the well-being of their animals and minimize disease outbreaks.
