MIANWALI: Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia chaired an emergency meeting to review flood relief and preparedness measures in Mouza Muhammad Sharif Wali and other low-lying riverine areas of the district.
The meeting, held at the DC Office committee room, focused on ongoing flood relief activities, the strengthening of protective embankments, and arrangements at flood relief camps.
Officials informed the deputy commissioner that relief camps had already been established in the affected areas. Heavy machinery, Rescue 1122 teams, and staff from relevant departments have been deployed and are fully prepared to respond to any emergency.
The deputy commissioner directed the district administration, Irrigation Department, Rescue 1122, Highway Department, Agriculture Extension, Livestock Department, Municipal Committee, Suthra Punjab teams, and other relevant departments to work in close coordination to ensure effective relief operations in view of the current flood situation and river erosion.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Shahid Khokhar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Majid Bin Ahmad, District Emergency Officer Engineer Naveed Iqbal, Executive Engineer Irrigation Jinnah Barrage Ahmed Rafiq, and other concerned officials.
