Mansehra Reviews Preparations for August 14 Mega Plantation Campaign

MANSEHRA: The Deputy Commissioner Mansehra chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the upcoming August 14 Mega Plantation Campaign, in line with the directives of the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting was attended by the Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) of Siran, Kaghan, Kunhar, and Agror Tanawal Forest Divisions, who discussed strategies to ensure the successful implementation of the province-wide plantation campaign across the district.

Participants reviewed plantation targets, site selection, inter-departmental coordination, logistics, and operational arrangements aimed at making the Independence Day afforestation drive a success.

Officials emphasized the importance of close coordination among all relevant departments to ensure timely plantation activities, effective monitoring, and maximum public participation during the campaign.

The meeting reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to supporting the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s vision of expanding forest cover, promoting environmental sustainability, and strengthening climate resilience through large-scale tree plantation initiatives.

The August 14 Mega Plantation Campaign is expected to mobilize government departments, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and local communities in a collective effort to create a greener and more climate-resilient Pakistan.
