KP Forest Department Holds Digital Dashboard Training Ahead of Independence Day Plantation Campaign

ABBOTTABAD, Aug. 6: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Climate Change, Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department organized a specialized training session on Plantation Dashboard Management to strengthen digital monitoring, transparency, and reporting for the upcoming August Plantation Campaign 2026 and the large-scale tree plantation drive planned for Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14.

The training session was held at the conference room of Northern Forest Region-II, Abbottabad, as part of preparations to ensure effective planning, real-time monitoring, and transparent documentation of plantation activities across the region.

A resource person from the Project Management Unit (PMU) provided participants with comprehensive training on the effective use of the digital plantation dashboard, covering data entry, real-time monitoring, geo-tagging of plantation sites, timely activity updates, and accurate reporting mechanisms.

Participants also received hands-on training to familiarize themselves with the dashboard’s key features, enabling them to digitally record and monitor every stage of the Independence Day plantation campaign in a transparent, efficient, and reliable manner.

The session was attended by plantation site focal persons and divisional focal persons from the relevant forest divisions of Northern Forest Region-II, who described the training as an important step toward ensuring coordinated implementation and effective monitoring of the province-wide plantation campaign.

Officials said the adoption of digital technologies will enhance accountability, improve decision-making, and enable real-time assessment of plantation activities, helping maximize the impact of afforestation efforts.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Climate Change, Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening plantation campaigns through modern digital tools, transparent monitoring systems, and effective public engagement to expand forest cover and promote climate resilience across the province.
