According to the Arab Times, the Kuwait Municipality has posted more than 1,000 employment openings for both nationals and expatriates in a variety of areas.
According to the country’s annual budget report, a total of 1,090 positions are open for application in 2024.
As many as 36 posts in the funeral department are particularly reserved for foreign workers, including ritual washing of the body, with 25 driver positions available for hearses.
Furthermore, the Kuwait Municipality is looking for accountants, architects, electrical and mechanical engineers; however, it has not been confirmed whether these posts are also open to overseas applicants.
It is important to note that administrative positions in the municipality are reserved for Kuwaiti natives across all branches.
Meanwhile, the new budget for wages and compensation, projected at KD190 million, represents a significant increase of KD9 million above the current budget.
Foreign workers make about 23% of the entire public sector employment of approximately 483,200, the greatest share among Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
According to reports, the country’s combined government and private sector workforce is 1.9 million, with the private sector accounting for 75% of employment. Expatriates account for around 3.2 million of Kuwait’s 4.6 million population.
