MANSEHRA: Adviser to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Forests and Environment Pir Musawwir Khan Ghazi visited the Siran Forest Division, where he inaugurated the Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2026 by planting a sapling at the Dodial Pheasantry.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the provincial government’s top priority is to promote sustainable forests and a greener environment through enhanced conservation and afforestation efforts.
During the visit, the adviser also toured the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI), Shinkiari, where he addressed forestry graduate trainees, interacted with students and planted a sapling on the institute’s premises. He stressed the importance of equipping future forestry professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to protect Pakistan’s natural resources.
Later, Pir Musawwir Khan inspected a forest depot, where he reviewed vehicles seized in anti-smuggling operations and examined confiscated illegal timber. He appreciated the Forest Department’s efforts against timber smuggling and directed officials to further strengthen enforcement measures to curb illegal logging.
The final leg of the visit included an open public forum (Khuli Kachehri) in Balakot, attended by representatives of the Forest Department and other line departments. The adviser listened to public grievances and issued on-the-spot instructions for resolving civic and administrative issues.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to environmental conservation, Pir Musawwir Khan said tree plantation and forest protection initiatives across the Hazara Division would be further accelerated under the vision of a “Green Pakistan” and sustainable forest management.
