MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department has seized illegally cut Kail (Blue Pine) timber during an intelligence-based anti-smuggling operation in Mansehra as part of the provincial government’s ongoing crackdown on forest crimes.
The operation was carried out by the staff of the Agror Forest Sub-Division under the Agror Tanawal Forest Division on the special directives of the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the department, the raid was conducted on the instructions of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Saeed Anwar Wazir and under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Forest Officer (SDFO) Farhad Khan.
During the operation, officials recovered five illegally cut Kail timber scants that had allegedly been stockpiled for unlawful transportation. The timber was confiscated on the spot.
The Forest Department said legal proceedings have been initiated against those involved under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Ordinance, 2002, and other relevant laws and regulations.
Officials said the successful operation reflects the department’s continued commitment to protecting the province’s forest resources through intelligence-led operations, enhanced surveillance and strict enforcement against timber smuggling and other forest-related crimes.
