PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department organized a tree plantation ceremony at Axis School and College, Hakimabad, Nowshera, under the Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2026 to promote environmental awareness and encourage youth participation in afforestation.
The event was held on July 29 on the directions of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Peshawar and was attended by school principals, teachers, students, and officials of the Forest Department.
President of the Private Education Network, Qazi Fazal Hakim, attended the ceremony as the chief guest and inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a chir pine sapling. Students also actively participated by planting cypress saplings, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation.
During the campaign, 20 saplings were planted, while 100 saplings were distributed among participants to encourage tree planting in their communities.

The ceremony was attended by Sub-Divisional Forest Officer (SDFO) Nizampur Attaullah, Community Development Officer (CDO) Ubaid Ur Rehman, Forest Guard Hamza Rehman, and other field and office staff of the Nizampur Forest Sub-Division, who supervised the plantation activities.
Forest officials said the initiative aims to reduce environmental pollution, mitigate the impacts of climate change, increase green cover, and create awareness among young people about the importance of tree plantation in building a greener and more sustainable Pakistan.
