Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026 Launched at POF Havelian to Promote Environmental Conservation

ABBOTTABAD, Aug. 6: The Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026 was officially launched at Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), Havelian, with a pledge to promote afforestation, environmental conservation, and climate resilience.

The campaign was inaugurated by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Daur Watershed Division, Abbottabad, Syed Rizwan Ahmed Kazmi, in collaboration with Brigadier Sohail Bashir, PSC.

To mark the occasion, the DFO and Brigadier Sohail Bashir jointly planted a sapling, symbolizing their shared commitment to increasing the country’s green cover and fostering a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.

Speaking at the ceremony, officials emphasized the importance of tree plantation in mitigating the impacts of climate change, conserving biodiversity, improving air quality, and protecting natural ecosystems.

They highlighted that collaborative efforts between government departments, public institutions, and local communities are essential for achieving long-term environmental sustainability and strengthening Pakistan’s resilience against climate change.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to making the Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026 a success by encouraging wider public participation in afforestation initiatives and promoting a culture of environmental stewardship for future generations.
