KP EPA Signs Contract to Develop Digital Environmental Approvals and Monitoring System

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection Agency (EPA KP) has taken a major step towards the digital transformation of environmental governance with the signing of a formal contract for the development of the Digital Environmental Approvals and Monitoring System (DEAMS).

The contract agreement was signed by Director General EPA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tariq Ali Khan (PMS BS-20) and Muhammad Musaddiq, authorized representative of the successful bidder.

The DEAMS initiative is aimed at strengthening digital governance, transparency, efficiency and streamlined environmental regulatory processes across the province.

According to EPA KP, the digital platform will facilitate more effective management of environmental approvals and monitoring activities while improving data management and institutional coordination through modern technological solutions.

The system is expected to provide a more organized and efficient mechanism for handling environmental regulatory processes, potentially improving public facilitation and strengthening oversight of environmental compliance.

Speaking on the occasion, EPA KP officials reaffirmed the department’s commitment to adopting innovative and technology-driven approaches for effective environmental protection and sustainable development.

The initiative represents an important milestone in modernizing environmental regulatory systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and strengthening the province’s capacity for transparent, efficient and data-driven environmental governance.
