PESHAWAR: Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tariq Ali Khan (PMS BS-20), held a meeting with residents and representatives from areas surrounding the Hattar Industrial Estate to discuss their environmental concerns.
The meeting was held at the office of the DG EPA, where local residents presented their grievances and highlighted various issues relating to environmental conditions in the vicinity of the industrial estate.
Tariq Ali Khan listened to the concerns in detail and assured the participants that their complaints would be examined and appropriate action taken in accordance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection Act, 2014, and other applicable environmental laws.
The DG emphasised that protection of public health, environmental compliance and provision of a clean and safe environment remain among the key priorities of EPA KP.
He further said the agency would continue strengthening environmental monitoring and enforcement mechanisms and would take action against violations of environmental regulations in accordance with the law.
The meeting provided a platform for direct engagement between local communities and the environmental regulator, with the aim of addressing environmental concerns through improved monitoring, legal compliance and coordinated action.
