ISLAMABAD: A major water supply pipeline on the Islamabad Highway has reportedly been leaking for nearly two months, resulting in the loss of millions of gallons of treated water, while authorities have yet to undertake repair work.
Residents say the continuous leakage has created pools of water along the roadside, with some people even using the flowing water to wash motorcycles, further highlighting the extent of the wastage.
The prolonged leak has sparked concern among citizens, particularly at a time when Rawalpindi and Islamabad continue to face recurring water shortages. Locals questioned why such a significant loss of water has gone unaddressed despite repeated complaints.
Residents have urged the relevant civic authorities to take immediate notice of the situation, repair the damaged main line without further delay, and prevent the continued wastage of precious water resources. They stressed that conserving water is a shared responsibility and called for swift action to ensure efficient management of the region’s already strained water supply.
