Her husband Chandrakant and her nephew, who were also in the vehicle, were seriously injured.

In an interview to the media, Chandrakant revealed the tragic details of the accident and said, “Pawithra died of a heart attack and not an injury.
He was scared when he saw me in pain and heart attack. “I was unconscious for several hours and only after I regained consciousness I heard that he was dead.”
